Pubs and Houses

Cragg House, Over Kellet
The home of Richard Myerscough and then James Myerscough and Mary Rogerson

Sometime after 1764 the house came into the possession of Richard Myerscough who died in 1783.

His widow Alice paid land tax on the house in 1784 and 1796.  Her son, Simon Myerscough, redeemed the land tax in 1799 and died intestate in 1804 leaving a son, John.

The house was tenanted in 1816 and was divided into two dwellings at some point.

In 1827, John and Margaret Myerscough conveyed both (?) houses to Thomas Jenkinson.

James Myerscough was tenant of the house and 14 acres in the 1841 and 1851 census.
